Cinema Scout support
Here to help.
Something went wrong, a cinema detail needs correcting, or you have an idea? Send it over. Feedback and suggestions help improve the app.

What to include in a report
Use Settings → Send feedback / Report a bug, or email the address above. Include the app version/build, device/OS version, selected country/date and the steps that caused the problem. Screenshots are useful if you hide names, booking references, ticket codes and other personal details.
Never send passwords, one-time sign-in codes or iCloud app-specific passwords. Support messages are reviewed by a person; there is no guaranteed response or fix time.
For a cinema booking problem: contact the cinema or ticket seller about payments, seat reservations, changes, refunds or admission. Cinema Scout is an independent guide and personal booking organiser; it does not sell or cancel cinema tickets.
Common questions
Where is the calendar?
On Films, choose Calendar near the top to select a show date. Availability depends on the selected country and cinema source; choosing a future day does not create unpublished sessions. GSC’s Malaysia date browser can check published future dates.
To import an existing booking event, open Tickets → Import from calendar. Choose a date range, then Load calendar events. Opening the chooser alone does not read your calendars. You can use Files, pasted details or manual entry instead of granting access.
Do I need an account? How do I set up a profile?
An account is optional for browsing cinemas, keeping local tickets and reading approved public-community posts. Open Community’s profile setup, then use the existing Cinema Scout Apple/email sign-in flow. Apple sign-in is available only in supported builds.
You can save a display name, a unique handle, an optional bio, a monogram colour and an optional profile photo. Choose a photo or remove it, then tap Save private profile to save that change; selection alone uploads nothing. Profile saving and booking sync are separate choices. Submitting a public post or reply separately asks you to share a snapshot of your display name, handle and optional profile photo with that contribution.
If an email code is delayed, check spam and request a fresh code when available. Use the same account on each device; an Apple relay address and another email address do not automatically merge accounts. Do not share your code with support or another person.
How do public posts, reviews and reports work?
Connected Community lets anyone read approved posts and replies. Sign in and save a profile to submit a question, film or theatre review, issue or correction. Review the text and any chosen photo, accept the community rules and confirm the public author details before submitting. Earlier beta builds may still show a local preview.
At launch, new submissions and edits wait for review before appearing publicly. Use your own submissions to check their status or edit/delete them. Saving a private profile does not automatically publish it, and catalogue corrections are reviewed separately.
Use a post or reply’s menu to report a problem or block an account. Reports are private to the service and moderators. You can manage blocked accounts in Community. If you cannot use the in-app action, email support with the post title, author handle and what went wrong; hide personal information and ticket codes.
Why are bookings or notes missing on another device?
Check that both devices are signed into the same account and that you explicitly enabled private sync on each. Review any conflict choices and try Sync now with a connection. Signing in alone does not turn on sync.
Original ticket-code fields, booking references, images and pass archives stay on the device where they were added. A synced booking can therefore appear without its original code or image. If a local library is linked to another account, sign back into that account before syncing it.
How do booking imports and iCloud Mail work?
Import a booking file, paste copied confirmation details or select a calendar event, then review every detected field. Missing or ambiguous dates/time zones can require manual correction. Saving remains your choice and requires showtime/time-zone confirmation.
For direct iCloud Mail search, use an Apple app-specific password, not your normal Apple Account password or a verification code. The credential stays in this device’s Keychain and connects directly to Apple. Search a received-date range of up to 90 days; the list shows up to 40 matching Inbox headers. Only the email you choose is opened for review.
The importer does not mark messages as read, move/delete them or monitor mail in the background. Disconnect in its iCloud Mail section to remove the saved credential; you may also revoke that password with Apple. Direct Gmail/Outlook inbox connections are not available, but their exported files and pasted confirmations can be imported.
Why can’t I create or use a Wallet pass?
Pass creation needs a working connection to the signing service where the feature is available. If it fails, your saved booking remains available so you can retry. Adding the completed pass uses Apple’s confirmation flow.
Import only an original ticket code. A booking reference cannot recreate an admission barcode, and a personal pass does not verify the booking or guarantee entry. Keep the cinema’s original confirmation. Manage passes already added to Apple Wallet separately from the app’s saved bookings.
What appears on my Apple Watch?
When the companion is included in your build and installed on a paired Watch, it receives a booking summary from the iPhone. Open Cinema Scout on the paired iPhone after changes and allow the devices to connect. Delivery can be delayed while either device is unavailable.
The summary includes the film, cinema, hall, seats, format and time. It does not include the original QR/barcode, booking reference, ticket image or pass archive. If the companion is unavailable or does not refresh, report the iPhone app build and watchOS version.
How do I remove my account and information?
Open Settings → Account & sync → Delete account and confirm. An Apple-linked account requires fresh Apple confirmation. Confirmed deletion removes current account, private profile and private-sync database records, including sync retry receipts, as well as authored public-community contributions. Deleting a post also removes its live reply thread.
Local bookings and notes remain on the device. Remove those separately if wanted. Account deletion does not cancel tickets, remove Wallet passes, erase other devices’ local copies or automatically remove support emails. If you cannot access account deletion, contact support without sending credentials. See the retention and deletion policy for logs/backups and other copies.
A showtime, hall specification or seat plan looks wrong
Send the country, cinema, hall, date and a source link or redacted screenshot if possible. Some layouts are recreated reference plans; coverage and specifications are incomplete and can change. A plan is not live seat availability. Check the cinema’s own listing and booking page before purchasing.
Suggestions are welcome. Corrections are reviewed before catalogue information changes; sending a report does not immediately alter the app for everyone.
